It’s Fall in NC…

The tree’s are changing, the weather is cooling off. I just love this time of year! Even though working with technology has always been a mainstay for me, I can’t help but find myself outdoors more when the Fall weather is the temperature that we try to keep the house at all summer! I really do love Fall.

As such, to celebrate Fall, I’ve changed my WordPress theme to celebrate Halloween! It’s dark and spooky yet incorporates remembering those who have passed on.

This is the time of year we visit the apple orchard (http://applehillorchard.com/), the kids participate in 4-H fairs, hike, and whatever else we can do beyond the doors of the house. Fall for me is not just about spending time in the foothills of the

Appalachians where I now live, but the experience of it. Watching the leaves changing color on so many types of trees making for a cascade of beauty across a rolling landscape… the nighttime fires that we sit by.. the crisp air at night making star watching a fantastic bug free experience. It’s Fall in North Carolina.

Fall also means the blooming of Shiitakes at Bulla Family Farm. If left alone they have random frutings which can have huge harvests or next to nothing at all. A little management helps spur predictable fruitings that can be harvested and sold.

Enjoy a moment by the fire….
