Here’s an interesting topic of discussion, one which can take on a life of its own and grow into weeks worth of self introspective study and growth: Compassion.
In and of itself, compassion as a noun means to literally “to suffer together” and generally motivates a person to act in some way alleviate the sufferings of another. It is even considered a form of love, referred to as an underpinning or foundation of an enlightened social interconnection and humanism. There are even references about the ethics of compassion, often times simply referred to as The Golden Rule – do unto others as you would have them do to you.
Here’s a little challenge to you, my readers who reply or are simply voyeurs.. write down your moments of compassion or empathy every day for a week, then review it or share with your spouse or a close friend. Challenge each other to see and acknowledge the compassionate moments in your lives. Share how your life is changing, or not, by slowing down to recognize this emotion.
