I was meandering around downtown Ft Myers this evening after partaking in a little time with family and friends for a birthday party and for some reason the following found it’s way into my head….
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way
Odd that tonight these series of opening lines from Charles Dickens novel A Tale of Two Cities (published 1859) was lacing its way through my thoughts as I wandered around listening to music. The times described really depended upon the person you talked to, and really, when it gets down to root of the thought, this single description can easily be lifted and applied to virtually any moment in time in life…
What it really comes down to is the choice to either make the best of your situations daily or to wallow in despair. The choice is yours. To act to make a change for the better or to slowly roast yourself to death in your personal version of hell.
The choice is yours. Are you going to choose to act out of love taking a leap of faith in yourself or do nothing and choosing to live in fear of what may never, ever, come to being. Are you willing to challenge being successful or live in fear or being successful or possibly failing? To follow that dream or chase endlessly to that “just right” time or money situation during which time you could die without ever achieving.
